Second marathon was Oct 1, 2011 in the heat of St George.  Time fell to 4:52:27.

With two marathons behind me, my next goal is to run one in under 4 hours and potentially qualify for Boston within 2 years.

I went ice skating with my family on Saturday and took a fall that really hurt my thigh.  It has been hurting ever since and slowed me down this morning.  I ran 4.64 miles in 42:08 with an average pace of 9:05/mile.  That's my slowest pace in a long time.

5.64 miles in 50:35 for an average pace of 8:58/mile.  My pace has slackened by about 30 seconds per mile and I'm not sure how to explain it.  Nothing to do except keep running and hope things get better soon.  My legs are nearly always sore and so I don't want to push things too much.

Wrapped up the month with a short run without a GPS, but cell phone said it took about 40 minutes, which is a little above average for that run (about 8:40/mile).  I got a little too hot in my long sleeves and gloves.  It's no wonder because the temperature indicated 54 degrees this morning.

Did two runs this morning.  First run was 10.15 miles and energy level was pretty low, ending at about a 10 minute pace.  Came home for a drink and then took Ben out for a 2.27 mile run.  I told him to go slow because my run had deteriorated to a 10 minute pace.  But, he took off and we averaged an 8:41 pace.  He got stomach cramps that slowed him down in mile 2.  I slowed down too, but then we picked up speed at the end and he beat me by a couple of seconds.

He is now in the Teacher's quorum and they are planning to run the Provo City Marathon on May 4.  That means he has a reason to run with me occasionally.  I haven't decided whether or not to run with them because the Provo City Marathon is sooner and harder than the Utah Valley Marathon.
