Hill running.  Hope it did some good because it wasn't impressive running as hard as I could up a steep incline at about 13 min/mile.  Not sure about actual numbers because my GPS got full after the first four miles which took 35:35 or 8:54/mile.

10K with Ben in 52:27 or 8:26 per mile on the flat Murdock Canal Trail.  That's the best place to get good times.  We also saw a deer on the way and three other people in the darkness.  It's the first time Ben has been willing to run with me in the dark, but it's pretty safe on the trail where no motor vehicles are allowed.  Splits were 9:26, 8:39, 8:17, 8:28, 8:11, 7:51, and 7:09 (partial).

The plan was 10 miles, but I ran a little further up the canyon to get to the next water fountain. On the way down, a couple of guys passed me up.  One of them stopped for water and he never caught me again.  I stayed close to the other guy but never caught him.  At one point I was surprised that my pace was 7:00.

Overall, 10.88 miles in 1:38:08 or 8:33/mile.  75 degrees and occasional sprinkles.
