Ran first marathon after 18 months of training (minus injury time) at age 52 in Logan, Utah on Sept 18, 2010.  Time was 4:16:56 compared to a goal of 4:15.

Second marathon was Oct 1, 2011 in the heat of St George.  Time fell to 4:52:27.

Short-Term Running Goals:

With two marathons behind me, my next goal is to run one in under 4 hours and potentially qualify for Boston within 2 years.

My primary physical goal is to live a long, healthy life and to stay active to the end.  While I can, I expect running to be a big part of that.

Totally different route than Saturday, but almost the same distance and the same temperature (28 degrees)

No foot pain, but a lot of other muscular pain as the running muscles begin to relearn how to put one foot in front of the other.

No real plan yet, other than a gradual increase in mileage.  I'll probably run three times this week and four times next week.

Getting up to a 4:50 alarm was one of the hardest things about today.

Started slow and sped up as time went on.  First mile was 10:45 and forth mile was 8:34.  I'm not sure about the last partial.  I mishandled my GPS and lost the run.  The only reason I know this much is because I ran with one contact lens and I used my bare eye to take a mental note of the lap times.  I think I'll do it that way more.  My glasses don't work well on wet days.

A little concern cropped up as I started to feel pain in the same foot towards the end of the run, this time closer to the toes, but in the same vicinity.  I'll see if it gets worse or better over time.
