I wore an extra shirt today to keep my core warm, hoping that more blood could flow to my extremities to keep them warm. It worked for my toes, but not my fingers, My ski mask turned into a block of ice because I was breathing into it and it became uncomfortable at the end, but it did keep my head warm. Thermometers I saw en-route range from -1F to +4F. The good news is that now I know I can do long runs in the cold and I don't need to let the weather keep me from completing my training. My pace wasn't very good, but at least I'm starting to ramp up the distance. Overall run was 12.35 miles in 1:52:49 for an average pace of 9:08/mile.
