Ran first marathon after 18 months of training (minus injury time) at age 52 in Logan, Utah on Sept 18, 2010.  Time was 4:16:56 compared to a goal of 4:15.

Second marathon was Oct 1, 2011 in the heat of St George.  Time fell to 4:52:27.

With two marathons behind me, my next goal is to run one in under 4 hours and potentially qualify for Boston within 2 years.

My primary physical goal is to live a long, healthy life and to stay active to the end.  While I can, I expect running to be a big part of that.

Total Distance
3.81

I 'm back!  I did a 2.5 mile run on Monday with no ill effects.  (I had zero pain in my foot.  I think this means that the stress frature is healed!)  This morning, I ran 3.81 more and it felt good.

Since I stopped running, I have been focusing my exercising indoors with low impact exercises.  This hasn't really kept me in shape (other than round), but the shape would have been rounder without doing something.  I'm not sure what the future holds, but I do plan to build up the milage slowly.  It may be too late to train for the Utah Valley Marathon, but we'll see how it goes.  I want to run at least one more marathon before Brian leaves for Medical School in August.

This morning, I ran with Charles, finishing with two miles around the track.  It was 28 degrees, a light snow fall, and beautiful.  Charles is going to snow college and he missed what they called the "Snow blast" last night.  But as we were running this morning, there was another group of runners.  One of them said "This is a blast!"  Charles' snow blast was in Orem this morning.

Welcome back! I'm thinking of doing UVM, now that so much family is in the area all of a sudden. Is Charles running for the track team at Snow? He is good enough.
